CISCO877-K9 Overview

CISCO877-K9 is the ADSL Security Router designed to replace the Cisco 837-K9 router. The Cisco 870 Series integrated services routers intelligently embed data, security, and wireless technology into a single, resilient system for fast, secure delivery of mission-critical business applications to small and medium-sized businesses and small branch offices. The 870 Series is also used by service providers to offer business-class broadband and wireless LAN services, making the Cisco877-K9 a highly secure, reliable ADSL router. This particular router does not have an advanced IP feature set.

CISCO877-K9 Specifications

Cisco 870 Series of integrated services routers are fixed-configuration routers that support multiple types of DSL technologies, broadband cable, and Metro Ethernet connections in small offices. They provide the performance needed to run concurrent services, including firewall, intrusion prevention, and encryption for VPNs; optional 802.11b/g for WLAN networking; and quality of service (QoS) features for optimizing voice and video applications. In addition, the Cisco Router and Security Device Manager (SDM) Web-based configuration tool simplifies setup and deployment, and centralized management capabilities give network managers visibility and control of the network configurations at the remote site.

cisco 877

Hi, I'm using a cisco 877 small business Router on a 10/100 lan network and I'm a newbie.I have a switch connected to a FastEthernet port 0 (private lan) of the cisco 877 : NetGear Prosafe F116 and a D-Link switch connected to a FastEthernet port 1 (DMZ). Can one of these switch to be the cause of the problem?

Best part it is cisco! Worst part is: I'm a CCNA and wasn't able to set it up properely. (Thats a headsup!) Other simple home/small office routers have a better to use graphical user interface with my experiance.
