They also deliver scalable management as your business needs change. I have a WS-C2960-48TC-L switch and it appears to 48 regular copper 10/100/1000baseTX ports but has two or four dual purpose ports that are a combination of an RJ45 copper and an SFP slot. In the CLI when I do a show interface status I get 48 ports. Gi0/1-44 show as 10/100/1000baseTX but Gi0/45-48 show as auto not present. How does this work? Do the dual purpose ports de-activate port Gi0/45-48 when they are used?
