Cuando se utilizan aplicaciones de almacenamiento intensivo, como copia de seguridad/restauración, transacciones de bases de datos, virtualización y medios enriquecidos, el mayor rendimiento de la infraestructura de 16 Gb permite un almacenamiento y una recuperación de información crítica más rápidos. Diseñados para entornos con mayor densidad de máquinas virtuales y requisitos de ancho de banda, los HBA de 16 Gb permiten ejecutar más aplicaciones y máquinas virtuales en un solo servidor host y puerto Fibre Channel, lo que reduce el cableado y aumenta el retorno de la inversión en TI. Los adaptadores de cuatro puertos están especialmente diseñados para servidores con ranuras PCIe limitadas que ejecutan cargas de trabajo que exigen un ancho de banda de red de almacenamiento extremadamente alto.
