AW555A は、MSA シリーズストレージ用の HP P2000 2TB 6G SAS 7.2K 3.5 インチ MDL HDD です。 HP MSA2 / MSA2000 コントローラーエンクロージャーおよびラージフォームファクター拡張エンクロージャーは、他の HPE ストレージアレイや Proliant サーバーとは異なるファームウェアおよび異なるトレイを備えた独自の HPE SAS ディスクドライブモジュールを受け入れます。ディスクドライブの背面には、ネイティブデュアルポート SAS インターフェイスを SCA-40 コネクタに変換する SAS インターポーザーが取り付けられています。この SCA-40 コネクタはファイバチャネル (FC) コネクタと同じ形状ですが、ドライブは FC プロトコルを利用していません。インターポーザーをよく見ると、回路はかなり単純化されており、ブリッジ/トランスレーターチップは取り付けられていません。インターポーザーは多かれ少なかれ、MSA2 独自のバックプレーンに接続するための信号フィルターおよびポートリロケーターとして機能します。
