N9K-C9508 es el chasis Nexus 9508 con ranuras para tarjetas de 8 líneas. La plataforma Cisco Nexus 9500, parte de la serie Cisco Nexus 9000, ofrece tres opciones modulares: el conmutador Cisco Nexus 9504 con 4 ranuras, el conmutador Cisco Nexus 9508 con 8 ranuras y el conmutador Cisco Nexus 9516 con 16 ranuras. Los tres conmutadores utilizan el mismo supervisor, controlador del sistema, fuentes de alimentación y tarjetas de línea. La plataforma Cisco Nexus 9500 consta de switches Ethernet sin bloqueo de capa 2 y 3 con un ancho de banda de backplane de hasta 115,2 terabits por segundo (Tbps).
