Tiene 2 ranuras MPU, 2 ranuras NSP, 16 ranuras PIC, 2 fuentes de alimentación de CA y ofrece una capacidad de conmutación de hasta 15,88 Tbps, rendimiento de reenvío de 360 Mpps. El enrutador Huawei CR2M16BASA02 ejecuta el sistema operativo VRP propiedad de Huawei y utiliza chips NP desarrollados por Huawei con tecnologías de conmutación sin bloqueo y reenvío basadas en hardware para servir principalmente como nodos de agregación en redes troncales IP, nodo central en la red del centro de datos.
