A placa H801SCUB é uma super placa de unidade de controle. É o núcleo do controle do sistema e da comutação e agregação de serviços. Ele também pode funcionar como o núcleo de gerenciamento e controle do sistema de gerenciamento de rede (NMS). A placa H801SCUB se comunica com as placas de serviço sobre gerenciamento de chaves e informações de controle por meio da porta serial master/slave e do canal GE inband. Desta forma, o H801SCUB configura, gerencia e controla o dispositivo. O H801SCUB também implementa a função de protocolo de rota simples.
