A placa ASNB é compatível com outras placas de serviço. Ele suporta sinais de HW de encaminhamento a quente e upstream para a placa de controle por meio da interface do backplane.

A placa ASNB consiste nos seguintes módulos funcionais:

· Módulo de interface de cabo de assinante: Processa principalmente sinais analógicos, incluindo sinais para alimentação ao telefone e verificação de fora do gancho.

· Módulo de processamento: Processa principalmente a conversão entre sinais analógicos e sinais digitais. Na direção upstream, ele converte sinais analógicos em sinais digitais. Na direção downstream, ele converte sinais digitais em sinais analógicos.

· Módulo de controle: controla e gerencia os serviços intraplaca e se comunica com a placa de controle. Além disso, emite comandos de configuração para o módulo de interface de linha de assinante e módulo de processamento e troca comandos com o cartão de controle através da porta serial.

· Módulo de alimentação: Fornece alimentação para os componentes da placa.
