Le N9K-C9508 est le châssis du Nexus 9508 avec 8 emplacements pour carte de lignes. La plate-forme Cisco Nexus 9500, qui fait partie de la gamme Cisco Nexus 9000, offre trois options modulaires : le commutateur Cisco Nexus 9504 avec 4 emplacements, le commutateur Cisco Nexus 9508 avec 8 emplacements et le commutateur Cisco Nexus 9516 avec 16 emplacements. Les trois commutateurs utilisent le même superviseur, contrôleur système, blocs d'alimentation et cartes de ligne. La plate-forme Cisco Nexus 9500 se compose de commutateurs Ethernet non bloquants de couches 2 et 3 avec une bande passante de fond de panier pouvant atteindre 115,2 térabits par seconde (Tbit/s). Les commutateurs Cisco Nexus 9504, 9508 et 9516 prennent en charge les interfaces Ethernet 1, 10, 25, 40, 50 et 100 Gigabit via une sélection complète de cartes de ligne modulaires. Configurables avec jusqu'à 2304 ports 10 Gigabit Ethernet, 2048 x 25 ports Gigabit Ethernet, 576 x 40 ports Gigabit Ethernet, 1024 x 50 ports Gigabit Ethernet ou 512 x 100 ports Gigabit Ethernet, ils offrent une capacité suffisante pour l'accès et l'agrégation -déploiements de couches.
